I love scones...fresh out of the oven and smothered in butter, raspberry jam (with seeds naturally) and thick clotted cream...mmmmm.....
Whilst they are foremost in my mind as an afternoon tea staple, the most wonderful afternoon tea I ever had in The Ritz in Paris contained none...so it obviously a British fascination ;)
And since my felt food shop is called "British Cream Tea" and announces itself as being the home of British felt food items I needed a scone...don't you think??
I am going to be working on lemon curd and strawberry jam versions.....
It took 3 goes to get enough cream in the swirl to truly fit the scone ;D
